When we think of a church, we usually think of a place - a building, a sanctuary, an altar found in a specific location. It might, however, be more accurate to say that the church is a community - a place where people do not have to think, look, or act alike - but rather a place where people care alike. Viewed in this way, the church connects us to one another. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we are connected to our brothers and sisters throughout the world. At Ascension, we attempt to develop and encourage that sense of intimacy. Our mission is to make Christ known in our lives and extend Christ’s love in the wider world. All of that starts with a sense of community that defines the church. We invite you to become a part of our community.
