Outreach and Service
As a Christian community, we are called to serve others in the name of Jesus. Members of Advent participate in local ministries such as Yokefellow Services, Hospice and Thrivent "Join Hands Day" work projects.
Women of the ELCA (WELCA)
Our Women of the ELCA group, named "WOW" (the Women Of Worth) meet monthly for fellowship, business, and programs. The whole group, including our working ladies, gathers for crafts and refreshments on the third Saturday of the month at 1:00 pm.
Some of the service projects sponsored by our women include making and distributing lap quilts, Rachel's Day - a day focusing on children and violence (education, advocacy, awareness), providing food/meals for various occasions, supporting the Yokefellow ministry (food), and many other projects. Recently, WOW sponsored a fundraiser for cancer victim Amy Lee and matched the funds raised by our Sunday School for the Lakota Sioux children at Pine Ridge Reservation. In August we decorated Hospice and provided tray favors. Let us know where we can help!Officers
