Our Vision for
Family of Christ Lutheran Church and Child Care Center

It is our vision to build and operate a childcare center as an integral part of the mission of Family of Christ Lutheran Church. We have studied the "Child Care Model" of church planting, first developed by the English District of the LC-MS (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod). After prayerful consideration and planning we believe it is a strategy that will work for our mission. We envision serving families in west Jackson Township, Ohio in a number of ways:

• Provide full-time and part-time childcare for children from six weeks through 5 years of age.
• Provide a preschool program in the mornings for children ages three through five.
• Provide an after/before school program for children in kindergarten through eighth grade.
• Provide summer programs for all children including various sports programs.

All of these ministries will be distinguishable as Christian, high-quality, state licensed, and accredited by the National Lutheran Schools Accreditation through the LC-MS.

Furthermore, the planned facilities will enable us to offer the following outreach programming for the families of the center as well as the general community:

• Seminars on a variety of topics (Parenting, marriage, time management, etc.)
• A full range of support groups
• A ministry of athletic programming designed to attract unchurched teens and adults
• Full programming for middle and high school youth
• "Whole Family" events designed to build communication and closeness in families through shared activities, such as family parties.
• Other programming needs that we are able to discern.

To establish this ministry, we have purchased approximately 7 acres at Portage and High Mill Roads. The facility's 10,756 sq. ft. will have a budgeted cost of 1.2 million dollars. We anticipate a minimum of 79 students at opening with an average operating enrollment of 121 after 14 months.

We place a high value on quality, financial viability, and an evangelistic mindset. We are convinced that these values are the key to success in our ministry.
