Service at First Lutheran
Low-Income Senior Housing
Our congregation provides six low-income apartments (four of which are
designated solely for senior citizens.) These apartments are maintained and
administered by a non-profit board, The Nelson Memorial Apartments,
Inc., made up of members of our congregation. Through this board, the
congregation also works in partnership with other local agencies dealing with
the issue of affordable housing in our community.

New England Seafarers Mission
We participate in this ministry whereby the mostly foreign and poor workers
on cruise ships are provided with opportunities for worship, as well as food,
reading material, and the chance to make phone calls home.
|
Participation with local organizations
We act as partners with several local agencies including: The Bristol Lodge
soup kitchen, the Salvation Army food pantry, the Waltham Protestant
Council of Churches, and the Waltham Deaconess Memorial Hospital
Chaplaincy Council.

Participation in ELCA-Wide Ministries
Members actively support the ELCA World Hunger Appeal, take part in
Lutheran World Relief programs, and support other ministries of the ELCA.
