Thank you for visiting with us today, it is a pleasure to have you with us.
We hope that you will be spiritually enriched. First Lutheran understands
itself as a community called by God to be a place of belonging for all. If
you do not have a church home, we hope that you will come worship with us,
and find First to be a church that will encourage and support you in your
growth in faith.
Happy birthday, First! Throughout the celebration
year of 2001, we rejoiced and gave thanks for 150 years of mission and
ministry in the name of Jesus Christ! Thanks be to God!
The next 150 years offer us a time for
remembering, rejoicing, and thanksgiving as we look ahead to the pathways
that will take us from the present to the future. The marking and
celebration of such a significant anniversary reminds us as surely as the
opportunities of history come, so surely they go. As each year provides us
the elevation of a mountaintop to look back, it also provides us with the
exciting opportunity to look forward and discern where God is leading us in
witness to the Gospel.
