Social Ministry

Social Ministry Projects

Heifer Project
The Confirmation Classes of 2009-2010 will again be working on the Heifer Project. Funding of this project is life changing and can mean the difference between hope and despair to those in extreme need throughout the world. Heifer Project programs give living gifts of livestock that recipients "pass on" to another needy family after their needs are met. Supporting this project is truly a means of giving that keeps on giving. The youth of the confirmation classes will be selling their baked goods once a month to earn money for their project;

World Hunger Appeal
Our Sunday school children along with members will again collect pennies for the ELCA World Hunger Appeal in 2009 – 2010. These monies will be used by the ELCA World Hunger Appeal to feed the poor people in the world.

Mission Festival
Our Mission Festival auction money raised this year will go toward supporting a Lutheran Theological Seminary student in Philadelphia, Ken-Crest, a home for the disabled, and the ELCA Disaster Fund to help victims here and abroad who are affected by natural disasters like hurricanes or earthquakes or flooding.

Bucks County Shelter
Social Ministry Committee continues to support families in transition and in the shelter through Bucks County Housing Group. This outreach from Redeemer throughout the year is a commitment we have made that is greatly appreciated. We will continue supplying food monthly. With God's help we will continue our special Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas food baskets, gift certificates, and the fulfilling of Christmas wishes on our tree.

Social Ministry will also sponsor, as in the past, gifts at Christmas for Lutheran Charities and Family Services.
