If you were to die tonight are you certain that you would have eternal life?
"I write these things to you...so that you may know that you have eternal life." 1 John 5:13
If you did die tonight, WHY do you think you would have eternal life?
"All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts (best deeds) are like filthy rags...and like the wind our sins sweep us away." Isaiah 64:6
MAN is in bondage
to sin and death, and
cannot save himself,
cannot set himself free.
"Jesus replied, 'I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.' " John 8:34
"Death came to all men, because all sinned." Romans 5:12
GOD loved us, and did not want us to die in our sins.
He sent His Son Jesus to save us.
"God wants all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:4
"He sent His One and Only Son into the world that we might live through Him." 1 John 4:9
CHRIST, by His life, death, and
resurrection from the dead,
freed us from sin and death.
"He was delivered to death for our sins, and was raised to life for our justification (aquittal)." Romans 4:25
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Romans 8:1
Question: How can you and I receive this blessing and freedom?
According to God's Word, the Bible, we are feed from our sins and saved by FAITH!
Saving faith is NOT mere "head knowledge", and not something WE do.
Saving Faith IS trusting in Jesus Christ alone for forgivenes and eternal life.
"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved!" Acts 16:31
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith; and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by (your) works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
NEW LIFE, is ours, now, in Christ.
"Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, and through Him we now stand under God's grace and love." Romans 5:1-2
"We are children of God, and His Spirit lives in us." Galatians 4:6
ETERNAL LIFE is ours, too!
Jesus said, "He who believes (in Me) HAS everlasting life." John 6:47
And in John 14:2-3, He also said, "In my Father's house are many dwelling places...I am going there to prepare a place for you...I will come back and take you with me."
