CALL COMMITTEE:  If you are interested in becoming a member of the CALL COMMITTEE for a new pastor, please contact Mike Dennis as soon as possible.

 

CHOIR- Interested singers will meet after church on August 24 to look at new songs for 2008/09 church year. 

The first choir performance is scheduled for October 19th.  Please come and share your God given talent.

 

WORSHIP TIME WILL CHANGE TO 9:30 AM BEGINNING SUNDAY, MAY 25!  This schedule will continue through the summer until Rally Sunday, September 7, when Sunday School and Adult Forum will begin again at 9:30 am and worship service at 10:30 am.  Nikki Laman will be Sunday School director for the upcoming year.

 

Attention ALL LEFSE MAKERS!!!! We will be serving lefse at the Swedish Dinner on October 26th.  If you can help make it and/or have equipment for making lefse, please contact Lee Ann Anderson.  We will be making the lefse at 1:00 pm on October 25th at Siloa.

 

PLEDGES AND SPONSORS FOR BOX CITY:  Darlene Krutsh, Jimmy, Jenny and John Amundson will be spending the night in a cardboard box in Box City at the Isanti County Fair Grounds on October 24th to raise money for the local homeless families.  You can help by sponsoring them.  It is a fund raiser for New Pathways, Inc. located in Cambridge.  It is a way to show gratitude to New Pathways for help that they give to the homeless.  There is more information posted on the bulletin board at the entrance of the church plus the sponsor sheet.  Please make your check out to “New Pathways, Inc.” and have them to one of the team members prior to October 17th.

 

INTERESTED IN FARMING/HAYING CHURCH LAND????  If you are interested in farming/haying the church land donated by Howard Larson, please contact Mike Dennis.

 

NEW NAME FOR “ADULT FELLOWSHIP GROUP”-This group will now be known as the SILOA MESSENGERS!  The group feels this describes the purpose of the group: bringing information and Christ’s message to a setting of fun and fellowship

          August 19 is Lutheran Night at the Twins!  Twins vs Oakland at 7:00pm One dollar from every ticket sold for the Lutheran night program will go toward Habitat for Humanity through Thrivent Builds.

          September 7 will be Rally Sunday and Sunday School and Adult Forum will resume.

          October 26 we will celebrate our Swedish heritage with our annual Swedish Dinner

 

KITCHEN SUPPLIES NEEDED:

          If you are cleaning out your kitchen cupboards this fall or going to garage sales, Siloa’s kitchen is in need of some supplies.  We could use some 9” X 13” pans, some pizza pans, some cookie sheets, and small serving bowls Thanks for helping stock our kitchen.

 

 

SUNDAY FELLOWSHIP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

            Everyone is asked to consider signing up to make/purchase treats, serve, and clean up kitchen for the after service fellowship time.  Then sign up sheet is between the kitchen door and serving window.  Lend a hand, sign up to serve.

 

 

IMPROVEMENTS OR REPAIRS: The Property Committee is looking for your input on future improvements or repairs to be considered for long and short term goals.  Please contact a committee member with your ideas.

 

 

IF YOU NEED A RIDE TO WORSHIP OR GETTING TO APPOINTMENTS- Call the church office (320-396-3927) and leave a message and we will try to arrange a ride for you.  If you are interested in being one of the drivers, the Social Ministry Committee is establishing a pool of drivers and you may contact a member of the Social Ministry Committee.
