DEVELOPMENT

St. Paul congregation was organized in 1831 and served the community of Pine Grove Mills in this building since 1858. The former church continues to function as a place of worship for the congregation of St. Albans Anglican Church. The Upper Pine Grove Cemetery, depicted here, is closed. The new Lower Pine Grove Cemetery is located three blocks from this site.

The present building, on West Pine Grove Road and two blocks from the original church, was built on a farm purchased from Arthur Stevens in the mid-sixties. Four acres were retained and the remaining acres were sold December 1976. A ground breaking ceremony took place Sunday, June 28, 1987. The congregation processed from the former church building to the new worship center on Sunday, July 31, 1988.

Pastor Robert Rohrbaugh served the congregation for 39 years, retiring May, 1999. The Rev. Steven Claycomb was installed by The Rev. Gregory Pile, bishop of the Allegheny Synod, on Sunday, February 18, 2001.  He resigned his pastorate December 31, 2006.

An educational wing is accessible from the main building. Four additional class rooms, including a theater, located on the ground level, enhance the educational program of the congregation.
