ABOUT PASTOR BOHDAN VADIS
Pastor Vadis was born and raised in Bemidji, Minnesota. “A place that in some respects will always be called home,” related Pastor Vadis in a recent trip to San Diego. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, where he was a Classics and Religion double major. From Gustavus he headed out to Berkeley, California, to attend Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary and earn his Master of Divinity degree. Pastor Vadis commented that, “During seminary, two of the highlights were my internship at Calvary Lutheran in Rio Linda, California, and working for three months as an intern Chaplain at Hazelden Treatment Center in Center City, Minnesota.”
Pastor Vadis had his first congregational call to Messiah Lutheran Church in Fargo, North Dakota, where he was the Associate Pastor. He then moved to The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Sacramento, California, where he has served as the Associate Pastor until his move down to San Diego to be the Pastor at Tierrasanta Lutheran.
Pastor Vadis said, “I am excited to join the community of faith at TLC (Tierrasanta Lutheran Church), and I look forward to life and ministry in Tierrasanta.” Pastor Vadis plans to emphasize Family Ministries and hopes to develop and expand the youth program at Tierrasanta Lutheran. He is also looking forward to starting a ‘Crossways’ Bible Study at TLC in order to read the Bible from ‘cover to cover’ with those from the community who will join together.
