About Our Worship at Tierrasanta Lutheran Church
Tierrasanta Lutheran Church is a liturgical church. That means that our worship services follow the ancient Christian calendar, which divides the year into seasons related to the life of Christ. Beginning with the Advent season before Christmas, we follow the gospel story through to the Passion of our Lord and His resurrection at Easter.

The center of our worship service is the celebration of the Eucharist. We believe that Jesus Christ is truly present in our worship in a special way under the appearance of bread and wine. When we partake of this bread and wine at communion, we offer prayers of thanksgiving for all that God has given us. Thanksgiving is the meaning of the Greek word Eucharist. We invite all Christian believers to join us in taking communion.



The mission of our GO Service (Growth and Outreach Service) is to increasingly reach out to others, foster a relationship with Jesus Christ , and provide relevance to modern day issues by helping people to grow in their personal faith. This Contemporary, family-focused service is full of the best current contemporary music. Powerfull uplifting songs prepare our hearts for a message that relates the truth of God's Word to our lives. After Children's Time and a prayer for our kids, they are released to their Sunday School classes (of course, they can stay with their parents if desired).

Another event you may witness in our services is the baptism of infants and adults. This is the prayer of re-birth whereby one becomes a member of the Christian Church and a new creature in Christ. We believe that it marks us forever as a child of God.

Children's Church for children ages 3-6 meets in the Library during the middle of each Sunday AM worship service for stories and crafts related to the scriptures of the day. A staffed nursery for infants and small children is also provided.



We have Sunday School classes for children of all ages and there is an Adult Forum between worship services. It is through our worship services and educational programs that we come into contact with the faith and teachings of the Church.

The heart of our faith is the marvelous grace of God, which frees us from our burdens and saves us for service to God and to one another. In the sermons preached here, you will more than likely hear word of hope and forgiveness rooted in the promises of God.
