Mission: Action seeks to enable women to articulate and
act upon their faith as disciples of Jesus Christ in all areas of
life.
Mission: Action is about ensuring that all people have access
to basic human needs, equality, justice, and safety. This includes
developing active partnerships with workers of God's justice to
provide tangible goods and services, education, and advocacy against
injustice.
Mobilizing for mission: "Mobilizing"
calls us to rally together, assemble, and get active. We do not work
in isolation but in community. "Boldly"
calls us to be courageous and daring, knowing that we live out our
baptismal calls with the fearlessness and confidence of Christ. The
acts that we are called to do come from Jesus: love our neighbors
as ourselves, feed the hungery, clothe the naked, care for the widowed
and orphaned, be with the imprisoned. Note: As found in the Women
of the ELCA Interchage, August issue, written by Linda Post Bushkofsky,
Executive Director, Women of the ELCA.
