Welcome to the Zion Lutheran Church
web site. The Zion Lutheran Church is located in Shannondale,
Pennsylvania - a small town in the western part of the state.
Zion Lutheran Church has a rich
history. Many people have worshiped and served at Zion.
Zion was organized in 1820 by Reverend
John M. Stack, thanks largely to the encouragement of a faithful
Lutheran woman - Katherine Keck.
The cornerstone for the present
church building was laid on Reformation Day, October 31, 1887.
Throughout the years, Zion's church
has seen many improvements. The latest of which appeared in 1990
when an education wing and social hall were added.
The Zion Lutheran Church has recently
completed a renovation project that includes handicapped
accessibility, and restoration of the sanctuary. Zion has also
recently purchased some additional property next to our current
property.
Zion has an active Sunday school
and youth group. We actively seek to love and serve one
another and our community as God has loved us.
Pastor Jim Steingass and the whole
congregation of Zion welcome you.
