Music Program

Our Purpose:
The purpose of Resurrection’s Music Program is to glorify God through His gift of music. In addition to offering anthems that support the weekly theme, our choirs lead the congregation musically through support and teaching. Music enhances the worship services and gives opportunities to use and develop our God-given talents, while offering them to the Lord. Rehearsals are an opportunity for fun, fellowship, and devotion.

Adult Choir:
The Adult Choir is for anyone in High School or older who enjoys lifting their voice to the Lord. This choir, led by Director of Music Pam Slater, sings an anthem at the 10:30 worship service each Sunday morning, as well as at special services. The choir also leads the congregation in learning and singing new hymns and liturgy pieces. Yearly outreach opportunities are a highlight for the choir members. Rehearsals are Monday nights at 7:00 pm in the Music Room.

Two Folk Choirs:
Directed by guitar player, Deacon Shirley Algozzine, the two Folk Choirs lead the congregation in singing scripture songs at weekly worship services as well as at special services. The Folk Choir also sings at church holiday concerts, and especially looks forward to yearly outreach opportunities.
----8:15 Folk Choir – This choir sings scripture songs, as well as leading the congregation in learning and singing new hymns and liturgy pieces at the 8:15 am worship service. Children’s Choir:
For children ages 3 through 2nd grade who love to sing, this choir is led by Dana Nieder with guitar. The Children’s Choir sings monthly at the 10:30 am service, as well as at special services. An audiocassette of the year’s songs is available for at-home practice.

Instrumental Groups:
These groups are for anyone, 5th grade and up, who plays an instrument and wishes to glorify God with music. Practices are scheduled as needed and groups participate in worship and church concerts periodically. Directed by Pam Slater.

Festival Choir:
This holiday choir for adults and teens sings at concerts or special services around Christmas and Easter. Rehearsals are Monday nights from 8:00 – 9:00 pm about two months before each program. This group offers a short-term opportunity for those who enjoy singing to the Lord.
